Obodzinski called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: D. Easley moved to approve the Minutes of the Bicycle Advisory Commission Meeting from May 11, 2022. R. Lenski seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously. REPORTS: B. Schwab provided an update on the Phase I Study for the Windsor Road Diet. Civiltech Engineering, Inc submitted the Project Development Report to IDOT and it has been processed at the district level, but still needs to be reviewed by the Central Office in Springfield. The traffic study is scheduled to take place in June, once summer camps are in session and park use is back up. B. Schwab reported that the BPAC’s recommendation to stripe combined bike and parking lanes along White Oak St is scheduled for June 2022. OLD BUSINESS: Community Bike Ride June 4, 2022 Sgt. Mandell reported that the updated online waivers are available and live on the Village website and were distributed in the Village newsletter. The Village’s Communication Outreach Coordinator has planned social media posts and a press release to promote the event. Sgt. Mandell has also sent information to the local schools. Sgt. Mandell asked if food and beverage will be provided. D. Easley volunteered to pick up granola bars and water. B. Schwab confirmed that there is a budget item to provide food and beverage up to two hundred dollars. D. Easley will check in with B. Schwab to confirm number of participates before purchasing to ensure minimal left overs. D. Easley asked if he needed to bring tables and chairs this year. Sgt. Mandell indicated that police have several pop-up tents and some tables and chairs. Sgt. Mandell and D. Easely plan to be there between 7:30am and 8:00am to set up. Sgt. Mandell 1 asked for the point of contact for the ride. C. Obodzinski said to put her e-mail address down and B. Schwab will be the contact for phone calls. Sgt. Mandell confirmed the following vendors will be in attendance: • Village Cycle will have mechanical support • Dick’s Sporting Goods • PACE bus • Bike Illinois and Police will be there for Adult Education • Arlington Heights Park District • Arlington Heights Police Department • Raffles prizes for both adult and minor ride – BPAC decided that all winners must be present to win D. Easley and J. Juffa will place out the route signs in the morning. B. Schwab was made aware that J. Juffa may not be able to lead the ride and asked for volunteers. D. Easley offered to reach out to the Arlington Heights Bike Club to see if one of them would be willing to lead. P. Danko offered to lead the ride, if no one from the club is available. C. Obodzinki will work the registration desk. B.Schwab will provide a QR code, so the waiver forms do not need to be printed out. NEW BUSINESS: Sgt. Mandall reported that the Police Department is holding bike rodeos at the Arlington Heights Park District summer camps. Sgt. Mandall asked is anyone on the BPAC has children bikes available to use for this event. C. Obodzinski suggested a social media posts. D. Easley suggested speaking to John Amling, a member of the Arlington Heights Bike Club. D. Easley stated Mr. Amling fixes bikes and may be aware of available bikes. OTHER BUSINESS: R. Lenski reminded the BPAC that the annual Bike Swap is this coming weekend. ADJOURNMENT: D. Easley moved to adjourn the meeting. P. Danko seconded the motion and the meeting adjourned at 8:05 PM.
