REPORTS Transportation Report Commissioner Feldman reported that he attended the PACE Board of Directors meeting last week online. Their big concern is the 730-million-dollar shortfall and conducting a forty percent reduction in service if they do not get additional funds. PACE plans to go all electric with their fleet by 2036, which may not be possible with the shortfall. The Commissioners reviewed the Transportation Resource flyer and made suggestions to entitle the document as “Getting Around Arlington Heights” and to make it as a tri-fold brochure. Affordable Housing Report The Commissioners discussed the need for affordable housing for older adults and how to communicate with them directly. Liaison Colagrossi mentioned that having an event similar to the past Aging In Arlington Heights, could encompass having housing resources like the Planning Department’s Zero percent loan program, Northwest Housing Partnership’s Home Modification grants, and the Center of Concern’s Shared Housing Program as multiple was to age in community. The discussion then went to creating a survey at the event as well as making the survey available after to capture the need from Arlington Heights residents. Collecting the data will in turn support any ask for Page 2 of 3 programs or subsidies for older adults to age in place. Commissioner Raminiak volunteered to create the survey. Commissioner Motto added that there is an Illinois House Bill where developers, they have to start early in the development, developers who want to build smaller multifamily units can apply to the state or whatever the taxing body to get if they want to provide affordable housing have their tax base lowered the evaluation have their valuation lowered so that they can provide more affordable housing. It's a form of subsidy by decreasing the landlord's taxes. Commissioner Motto will get the bill number to Commissioner Feldman for his legislative report. V.
