Present: 11 - Mayor Tom Weisner, Alderman Tina Bohman, Alderman Juany Garza, Alderman Ted Mesiacos, Alderman Bill Donnell, Alderman Mike Saville, Alderman Scheketa Hart-Burns, Alderman Rick Mervine, Alderman Edward Bugg, Alderman Lynne Johnson and Alderman Bob O'Connor Absent: 2 - Alderman John Peters and Alderman Richard Irvin PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE INVOCATION MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF JANUARY 27, 2015 15-00065 Approval of the Minutes of the January 27, 2015 City Council meeting . Alderman Bohman moved, seconded by Alderman Mervine to approve the minutes of the Council Meeting held on January 27, 2015. Motion carried by voice vote. Mervine, to approve all Mayoral appointments on the agenda at once. Motion carried unanimously. 15-00001 A Resolution Appointing Scott Roscoe and Christopher Hess and Reappointing Lisa Garcia, Robert Moga, Bernina Perkins and Art Sheridan to the Aurora Veterans Advisory Council. This resolution was approved. Aye: 10 - Alderman Bohman, Alderman Garza, Alderman Mesiacos, Alderman Donnell, Alderman Saville, Alderman Hart-Burns, Alderman Mervine, Alderman Bugg, Alderman Johnson and Alderman O'Connor 15-00048 A Resolution Appointing Cynthia Latimer and Peter Grometer to the Aurora Civic Center Authority. This resolution was approved. This resolution was approved. Hart-Burns and seconded by Ald. Mervine to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. This Resolution was approved. City of Aurora Page 2 City Council Meeting Minutes - Final February 10, 2015 15-00023 A Resolution to Accept the Bid from P&M Tree Service, West Chicago, IL., in the Amount of $69,000 for Tree Removal at Various Locations Citywide for the Division of Street Maintenance. This Resolution was approved. 15-00037 A Resolution authorizing the purchase of 26 Taser X26P conducted electrical weapons and accessories. This Resolution was approved. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 14-01118 A Resolution adopting the University Neighbors Neighborhood Plan created as part of the Aurora Neighborhood Planning Initiative (Wards 4 & 5) Teska Associates Inc. Vice President and Principal Planner, Mr. Michael Hoffman, led a presentation on this item. Hoffman explained that Teska Associates is a community planning firm that has been working with the City of Aurora for a number of years. During his presentation, Hoffman addressed the proposed University Neighbors Neighborhood plan, and provided some history on the Aurora Neighborhood Planning Process, which began with the formation of a revitalization team that would evaluate potential improvements in existing neighborhoods. A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Mervine, to approve this resolution. The motion carried. The motion carried. Aye: 10 - Alderman Bohman, Alderman Garza, Alderman Mesiacos, Alderman Donnell, Alderman Saville, Alderman Hart-Burns, Alderman Mervine, Alderman Bugg, Alderman Johnson and Alderman O'Connor SPEAKERS Dan Hites, of W. Downer Pl., addressed the City Council in regards to some concerns related to Waubonsee Community College parking. A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns , seconded by Alderman Mervine, to allow a speaker to address City Council. The motion carried by voice vote.
