APPOINTMENT OF SERGEANT-AT-ARMS A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Irvin to appoint Officer David Hornburg as Sergeant-at-Arms for this meeting. The motion carried by a voice vote. PRESENTATIONS 16-00811 Proclamation in Recognition of Kiwanis 100th Anniversary . The Kiwanis were recognized for their 100th Anniversary and presented with a proclamation by Mayor Thomas Weisner. The recognition was discussed and filed. Mayor Thomas Weisner opened the Public Hearing related to this item and asked if there were any speakers. There being no speakers, a motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burn, seconded by Alderman Irvin to close the public hearing. The motion carried by voice vote. A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burn, seconded by Alderman Mervine to accept and file the report. The motion carried by voice vote. 16-00805 Treasurer's Report - July 2016 . A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burn, seconded by Alderman Mervine to accept and file the report as filed. The motion passed by voice vote. BILLS 16-00813 Bill Summary and Large Bill List A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Irvin, that the bills as presented be approved and paid. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 12 - Alderman Bohman, Alderman Garza, Alderman Mesiacos, Alderman Donnell, Alderman Saville, Alderman Hart-Burns, Alderman Mervine, Alderman Bugg, Alderman Johnson, Alderman Irvin, Alderman O'Connor and Alderman Franco SPEAKERS City of Aurora Page 5 City Council Meeting Minutes - Final August 23, 2016 CLOSED SESSION A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Bohman that at the close of this meeting, the City Council go into Closed Session to discuss matters involving the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (5), the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the public body 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (6) and Litigation. 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (11) Litigation of the Open Meetings Act, which authorizes this meeting to be closed to the public. The motion carried.
