Present: 12 - Alderman Tina Bohman, Alderman Juany Garza, Alderman Ted Mesiacos, Alderman Bill Donnell, Alderman Carl Franco, Alderman Mike Saville, Alderman Rick Mervine, Alderman Edward Bugg, Alderman Judd Lofchie, Alderman Sherman Jenkins, Alderman Bob O'Connor and Mayor Richard Irvin Absent: 1 - Alderman Scheketa Hart-Burns PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE INVOCATION APPOINTMENT OF SERGEANT-AT-ARMS A motion was made by Alderman Jenkins, seconded by Alderman Garza, to appoint Officer Hornburg as Sergeant-at-Arms for this meeting. The motion carried by voice vote. PRESENTATIONS 18-0054 Recognition of the West Aurora State and National Champions. This Recognition was discussed and filed MAYORAL APPOINTMENTS 18-0038 A Resolution Appointing Bertha Baillie to the Aurora Human Relations Commission. Enactment No: O18-012 17-01210 A Resolution to Reject All Bids for the Randall Road and Greenview Drive Sidewalk Project for the Engineering Department . This Resolution was approved. Enactment No: R18-013 17-01216 A Resolution to purchase 36 new automobiles and trucks from both the Illinois Department of Central Management Services Master Contracts and the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative . This Resolution was approved. Enactment No: R18-014 17-01217 A Resolution authorizing the purchase of eight work stations to be placed in the Special Operations Group Office at the Aurora Police Department to house federal task force officers. This Resolution was approved. Enactment No: R18-015 18-0019 An Ordinance adopting the 2015 International Code Council series commercial building codes with local amendments per the recommendations of the Electrical Commission, the Building Code Board of Appeals and the Fire Code Board of Appeals. This Ordinance was adopted. Enactment No: O18-013 18-0020 An Ordinance adopting the 2014 National Electrical Code for commercial buildings with local amendments and Annex H per the recommendations of the Electrical Commission. This Ordinance was adopted. This Ordinance was adopted. Enactment No: O18-015 REQUESTS AND REFERRALS 18-0051 Requesting to downzone the property at 186 N. Root Street from R-4 Two Family Dwelling District to R-2 One Family Dwelling District (Alma Ramirez - 18-0051 / AU22/4-18.016-DZ - TV - Ward 2) This Petition was referred to the DST Staff Council (Planning Council) BILLS 18-0053 Bill Summary and Large Bill List. A motion was made by Alderman Franco, seconded by Alderman Garza, that the bills as presented be approved and paid. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 11 - Alderman Bohman, Alderman Garza, Alderman Mesiacos, Alderman Donnell, Alderman Franco, Alderman Saville, Alderman Mervine, Alderman Bugg, Alderman Lofchie, Alderman Jenkins and Alderman O'Connor CLOSED SESSION A motion was made by Alderman Jenkins, seconded by Alderman Garza, to enter into a Closed Session under Section 2(c)(11) litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the particular public body has been filed and is pending before a court and for Section 2(c)(21) discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under the Open Meetings Act at the conclusion of the open portion of this meeting. A motion was made by Alderman Jenkins , seconded by Alderman Garza, that the open portion of this meeting be adjourned. The motion carried by voice vote.
