Irvin, for Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Copley Theater, 8 E Galena Blvd., Aurora, Illinois. SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING ROLL CALL Mayor Irvin called the meeting to order at 6:22 P.M. and the roll was called. Present - 12: Alderman Bohman, Alderman Mesiacos, Alderman Donnell, Alderman Franco, Alderman Saville, Alderman Hart-Burns, Alderman Mervine, Alderman Bugg, Alderman Lofchie, Alderman Jenkins, Alderman O'Connor and Mayor Irvin. Absent- 1: Alderman Garza APPOINTMENT OF SERGEANT-AT-ARMS A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Jenkins to appoint Officer Sullivan as Sergeant-At-Arms for the meeting. The motion carried. NEW BUSINESS A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Bohman to suspend the rules to dicuss the item on the agenda under New Business. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 11 - Alderman Bohman, Alderman Mesiacos, Alderman Donnell, Alderman Franco, Alderman Saville, Alderman Hart-Burns, Alderman Mervine, Alderman Bugg, Alderman Lofchie, Alderman Jenkins, and Alderman O'Connor 19-0372 Swearing-in of Newly Elected Officials The Aldermen were sworn-in and seated. PUBLIC COMMENT After Clerk McCambridge read a statement regarding public comment the City of Aurora Page 1 City Council Meeting Minutes - Final May 7, 2019 following member of the public addressed City Council: Nicholas Heald spoke against abortion. There were no further speakers. CLOSED SESSION There was no need for a Closed Session. ADJOURN A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Franco to adjourn this meeting.
