ROLL CALL Members present: Kim Bright, Timothy Brown, Ginger Ingram, Andrea McMillian, Lily Rocha, Curtis Wilson (6). Members absent: Rajesh Char (1). OTHERS PRESENT Others present: Judy Durham; Newly Appointed CRB Member, Nydia Molina, Assistant Corporation Counsel and Frankie Zepeda; IT Service Desk Engineer. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of the Minutes of the Thursday, April 20, 2023, Civilian Review Board Meeting. Member McMillian made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Member Brown. The motion was carried by a roll vote as follows: Ayes: 4 - Ginger Ingram, Andrea McMillian, Lily Rocha, Curtis Wilson. Nayes: 0. Absent: 1 - Rajesh Char. Abstain: 2 - Kim Bright, Timothy Brown. PUBLIC COMMENT None. REPORT OF THE CHAIR Chair Bright briefly presented a report about the Mayor's Office Board Leadership Breakfast that took place on May 5, 2023 and the NACOLE (National Association for Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement) conference in Chicago taking place November 12-16, 2023. Member McMillian made a motion to request funds for all CRB members to attend the NACOLE conference in Chicago taking place November 12-16, 2023, seconded by Member Ingram. Nayes: 0. Absent: 1 - Rajesh Char. I.T. SUPPORT None. STATUS ON NEW MEMBERS None. NEW BUSINESS CRB Staff Roles Reviewed. OLD BUSINESS Legal - Closed Session Reviewed. Legal Assistant Corporation Counsel Nydia Molina discussed items that will be happening at next month's meeting and/or the July meeting: Closed Session Minutes will be reviewed every June and December, preparing rules and procedures for Chair and Vice Chair elections in August, and a presentation about complaint process. Analysis of CRB Review of APD Complaints - 08/2021 - Present Reviewed. CRB is exploring ways to conduct outcome research (addition to the Strategic Plan). Member Wilson has created a potential spreadsheet to track Member McMillian made a motion to make a written request to APD for a monthly report on the number of complaints filed and who is using which website link for research purposes, seconded by Member Ingram. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Member Rocha, seconded by Member McMillian to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried by voice vote.
