ROLL CALL Members present: Christopher Bennett, Timothy Brown, Dawn D'Orazio, Ginger Ingram, Curtis Wilson (5). Members absent: Renu Kanakamma (1). OTHERS PRESENT None. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 26-0025 Approval of the Minutes of the Thursday, November 20, 2025, Civilian Review Board Meeting. Vice Chair Brown made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Member D'Orazio. Member Bennett abstained. The motion was carried by voice vote. PUBLIC COMMENT None. PRESENTATION / GUEST SPEAKER None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 25-0160 A review of Aurora Police Department policies in accordance with the CRB ordinance for the CRB to provide written recommendations to the department. Agenda item has been postponed until a later date. NEW BUSINESS 26-0026 2026 CRB Programming Ideas The board discussed various ideas on how to promote and increase the City of Aurora Page 1 Civilian Review Board Meeting Minutes - Final January 15, 2026 presence of the Civilian Review Board with the community including priorities for the CRB to produce a script and presentation for the Speaker's Bureau, relaunch the CRB with news outlets, conduct community assessments/surveys, attend ward and neighborhood group meetings (official and autonomous), partner with the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (C.P.A.A.A.), and partner with various social services groups. Member D'Orazio made a motion to approve to outline the priorities for the CRB for the first quarter, conduct community assessments or exercises (engagements), attend ward and neighborhood group meetings (official and autonomous), partner with various social services groups, and receive data, seconded by Vice Chair Brown. The motion was carried by a roll vote as follows: Ayes: 5 - Christopher Bennett, Timothy Brown, Dawn D'Orazio, Ginger Ingram, Curtis Wilson. Nayes: 0. Absent: 1 - Renu Kanakamma. ANNOUNCEMENTS Member Ingram announced that the City of Aurora Public Art Gallery is presenting Echoes of Excellence, a multi-floor exhibit celebrating the centennial of Black history commemorations. It is open February 6 through February 21, 2026 from 6 P.M. - 9 P.M. Location: David L. Pierce Art & History Center, 20 E. Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60505, 1st Floor and 3rd Floor. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Member Bennett, seconded by Member D'Orazio to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried by voice vote.
