A motion was made by Alderwoman Smith and seconded by Alderwoman Garza to allow Alderwoman Hart-Burns to participate remotely in this meeting. The motion carried by voice vote and Alderwoman Hart-Burns participated in this meeting via Zoom. Bugg, and Alderwoman Shweta Baid MINUTES OF THE TUESDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2022 COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING 22-1065 Approval of the Minutes of the Tuesday, December 20, 2022, Committee of the Whole Meeting. A motion was made by Alderwoman Garza and seconded by Alderman Jenkins to approve the minutes of the December 20, 2022 meeting as presented. The motion carried by voice vote. MAYOR’S REPORT A public salute and farewell to Dr. Christine Sobek, who is retiring as president of Waubonsee Community College on Wednesday, January 4, after 20 years of service. Mayor Irvin presented a Mayoral Proclamation to Dr. Christine Sobek, President of Waubonsee Community College who is retiring on January 4, 2023. The Mayoral Proclamation proclaimed January 4, 2023 as Dr. Christine J. Sobek day in the City of Aurora. Mayor Irvin presented the Key to the City of Aurora to Dr. Sobek. REPORT OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE The Finance Committee Meeting Scheduled for December 29, 2022 was Cancelled. REPORT OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY AND TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE The Public Health, Safety and Transportation Committee Meeting Scheduled for December 27, 2022 was Cancelled. REPORT OF THE INFRASTRUCTURE & TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE The Infrastructure and Technology Committee Meeting Scheduled for December 26, 2022 was Cancelled. REPORT OF THE RULES, ADMINISTRATION AND PROCEDURES COMMITTEE The Rules, Administration and Procedure Committee Met On December 20, 2022 and Reviewed the Following Items: 22-1025 A Resolution approving the appointment of Craig Gunty and reappointment of Ramona Wood to the Civil Service Commission. (PLACED ON CONSENT AGENDA) 22-1047 An Ordinance Amending "Chapter 25, Article XI" of the Code of Ordinances. Marissa Spencer, Assistant Corporation Counsel - City of Aurora, presented and responded to questions regarding this item. Alex Alexandrou, Chief Management Officer - City of Aurora, spoke and responded to questions regarding this item. (PLACED ON CONSENT AGENDA) STAFF REPORT Michelle Clark, Director of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion - City of Aurora, introduced Ryan Maley, the Vice Chairperson of the City of Aurora Human Relations Commission who gave a brief presentation regarding the Human Relations Commission. CLOSED SESSION There was no need for a closed session at this meeting. ADJOURN A motion was made by Alderman Franco and seconded by Alderman Jenkins to adjourn the meeting.
