Beech Mountain TDA Report
To Town Council
July 2026
During the month of June, the TDA kicked off summer messaging by promoting fun family
getaways with the launch of the Cool Summers on Beech Mountain campaign. Capitalizing on
the cooler temperatures provided by our elevation, the wordplay initiative is designed to
appeal to families looking to escape the heat as well as to thrill seekers looking for
unforgettable outdoor experiences, like downhill mountain biking, hiking and fishing. The TDA
once again partnered with local restaurants for the second annual Blackberry Jam which
highlights blackberry themed treats and our vibrant music scene including both free and
ticketed concerts. The TDA also joined forces with the Land of Oz to promote Tea with Dorothy
and Aunt Em and Autumn at Oz. Local events such as the Farmers Market, Run the Beech, the
Hog Roast and other 4th of July celebrations were promoted in June. During the June meeting,
the TDA awarded the Town a $20,000 grant to revitalize Wynn Memorial Park and a $10,000
grant to install a digital information kiosk at the Sledding Hill which will provide Town events
information to visitors and residents.

in June 2025 could account for the drop in visitors). Occupancy tax of $56,879 was collected in
the month of June (for May overnight stays). This was 17.88% more than the $46,711 collected
in June of 2025. 854 room nights were reported to the tax office for May overnight stays.
