Variance for the Allowable Square Footage of a Freestanding Post Sign in a Commercial Zone Under 40 Feet Tall
to be Increased from 35 Square Feet to Approximately 110 Square Feet AND a Variance for Canopy Sign
Increased from 0.5 Square Feet Per Linear foot to 1.29 Square Feet Per Linear Foot on the South Elevation of the
Canopy Over the Fuel Lanes requested by Circle K for the property
located at 396 W Hwy 26, Blackfoot / RP1407510
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Blackfoot Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on a
variance application for the allowable square footage of a freestanding sign in a commercial zone under 40 feet tall to be
increased from 35 square feet to approximately 110 square feet AND a Variance for Canopy Sign Increased from 0.5 Square
Feet Per Linear foot to 1.29 Square Feet Per Linear Foot on the South Elevation of the Canopy Over the Fuel Lanes located
at the following described property:
Legal Description:
Part of Lot 25 Section 33 Township 2 South Range 35 East B.M. Bingham County, Idaho described as: Commencing at
the West ¼ corner of Section 33; thence S 00°22’38” W 1051.38 feet along the section line; thence S 89°37’22” E
1319.14 feet to a point on the northeasterly right of way line of the Union Pacific Railroad and the point of beginning.
Thence N 00°01’43” W 276.73 feet to a point on the southerly right of way line of Highway 26; thence south 57°13’30” E
765.66 feet along said right of way line to a point on the westerly right of way line of Highway 39 said point being on a
curve; thence southwesterly 283.34 feet along a curve to the right through a central angle of 27°27’35” with a radius of
591.20 feet and a long chord which bears S 47°58’15” W 280.64 feet to the P.T. of said curve; thence S 61°42’02” W
142.04 feet continuing along said highway 39 right of way line to a point on the northerly right of way line of the Union
Pacific Railroad said point being on a curve; thence northwesterly 501.96 feet along a curve to the Left through a central
angle of 14°38’14” with a radius of 1964.85 feet and a long chord which bears N 38°16’39” W 500.60 feet to the point of
beginning.
Parcel contains 4.52 Acres more or less.
Such hearing will be held to gather information and receive testimony either for or against such action. All persons
interested or who are affected are invited to attend said hearing to show cause, if any, why said application should or
should not be granted. No more than 2 pages of written testimony will be accepted at the hearing.
