1. Call to Order/ Pledge of Allegiance/Roll Call
The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m.
Board Members Present: Chair Kathleen Rossetti, Matthew Dudley, Jim Roth, Randal Kidd
Board Members Absent: Joanna Brace
City Staff Present: Deputy Director, Robert Wisener; Arts & Culture Manager, Ilana Holden;
Management Assistant, Krysta Sanchez; Management Assistant Chelsea Furman-Kosut
2. Comments from the Public – Members of the audience may comment on any item of interest
No comments from the public.
3. Approval of the Minutes
3A. Arts and culture subcommittee to approve minutes from March 17, 2025, meeting. Motion was made to
approve the minutes by Jim Roth, and it was seconded by Matthew Dudley. Motion approved unanimously.
4. New Business
4A. Onboarding of New Subcommittee Member
Ilana Holden introduced Matthew Dudley as the newest member of the subcommittee. For discussion only.
She also expressed appreciation to all members for their commitment, noting that each person serves as a
representative of Buckeye’s citizens, an advocate for local artists, and brings an open-minded, unbiased
perspective to the process.
4B. Subcommittee’s Role in Reviewing Public Art
Kathy outlines the subcommittee’s essential role in reviewing public art, emphasizing the importance of
adhering to the specific call, evaluating the professionalism of the work, and ensuring alignment with
community standards. Key considerations include the theme, any restrictions, the proposed location, and the
overall intent of the call. Members are reminded to remain objective and avoid personal bias when discussing
or voting on artworks. Discussion only.
4C. Procedure for Vetting Public Art
Ilana presented an overview of the public art vetting process, which involves five key steps: 1. Submission
of the design. 2. Completion of the application. 3. City review of all submitted applications, including Arts
& Culture Subcommittee review 4. Review and approval by CSAB. 5. Final approval, contingent on all
standards being met

4D. Traffic Box Art by Adrian Ramirez for Recommendation to Community Services Advisory Board
Matthew Dudley motioned to approve. Jim seconded. Unanimous approval. This will now be presented at
the May 7th, 2025 CSAB meeting for final approval.
4E. 2025 Scheduled Meetings
Meetings will be held at The Landing on the first Monday of each month, apart from November. Unless a
private art submission is received, the subcommittee will not meet again until August.
5. Arts & Culture Manager’s Report
Manager informed the subcommittee of upcoming city hall 4/23/25 at 8am art reception from 4/22-5/8
during business hours you can stop by city hall to vote on the Buckeye Union High School students. The
Community of Culture Art Walk 4/26 from 430-7pm at Sundance Park; it will have cultural crafts,
performances, chalk art and more fun things.
6. Comments from Subcommittee Members
Kathy shared her enthusiasm for the upcoming year and the opportunity to continue reviewing public art.
Matthew expressed his gratitude for being welcomed to the subcommittee and shared his excitement about
experiencing the art, which he sees as a reflection of the community’s story.
Randal remarked that he enjoys being part of the subcommittee and hopes the group continues its work for
the foreseeable future.
