AGENDA:
1. Announcements and Updates (10 min)
2. Bicycle Friendly Community (15 min)
Burlington currently has a Silver level award from Bicycle Friendly America, we’ll
briefly cover what this means and create a task force for reapplying for this award.
3. Burlington Bike Network (15 min)
Community advocates have been tracking the state of our current bicycle network and
putting together a proposal to update it to be more interconnected.
4. South Burlington Joint Meeting Retrospective (50 min)
South Burlington’s Bicycle & Pedestrian Committee had a charter that differed from
ours. We will cover how their committee functions and speak to how it relates to our council.
In the end we should have a list of proposed action items to start to get buy-in from the
council and present it to the TEUC later this month.
Previous Meeting – At our February 11th, we held a joint meeting at South Burlington’s town hall to
discuss their charter and active projects.
Next Month: BWBC meets Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, 5:30 – 7:00 pm.
The BWBC is an all-volunteer advisory council to the City of Burlington. We work closely with and advise the Department of
Public Works and the Department of Parks, Recreation, & Waterfront on infrastructure improvements and policy changes for
walking and bicycling. The council also leads advocacy efforts and organizes events and activities that promote and
celebrate walking and biking in Burlington and beyond. See BWBC Webpage and Meeting Minutes and Agendas
