NACTO learning session (30 min) ​ Phillip Peterson has recently attended the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) conference and will share some of the key lessons from this event. 3. Bicycle Friendly America awards (45 min) ​ The Walk/Bike Council will review the Bicycle Friendly America awards application status and run a brief session to determine how we can complete it before the June deadline. Previous Meeting – At our May 6th meeting, we learned about the proposed changes to the New North End from Sarah Morgan, reviewed the active transit projects in 2026 with Phillip Peterson, and reviewed our meeting at the TEUC regarding our proposed annual district meetings. Next Month: BWBC meets Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, 5:30 – 7:00 pm. The BWBC is an all-volunteer advisory council to the City of Burlington. We work closely with and advise the Department of Public Works and the Department of Parks, Recreation, & Waterfront on infrastructure improvements and policy changes for walking and bicycling. The council also leads advocacy efforts and organizes events and activities that promote and celebrate walking and biking in Burlington and beyond.
