Tax Abatement Committee Organizational Meeting 5 p.m. 9/20/2022 Tax Abatement Committee Tuesday, September, 20, 2021, 5:00 p.m. Sharon Bushor Conference Rm Minutes of the Organizational Meeting Committee Members: Councilors Mark Barlow (MB) Chair, Perri Freeman (PF), Gene Bergman (GB) Others Present: Jared Pellerin (JP), City Attorney’s Office; John Vickery (JV), City Assessor; Kenneth Nosek (KN), Committee Administrator-City Assessor’s Office; Traci Isham (TI) Accounts Receivable Team Lead At 5:12 p.m. Chair Mark Barlow commenced the meeting. Agenda: Motion to adopt by GB Second by PF passed Minutes Adopted: None to adopt. Public Forum open: No one from the public was present Discussion at meeting centered on editing the webpage for the committee and adding a mission statement to the committee webpage. This meeting is the opening organizational meeting of the current committee convened to hear abatement requests and make recommendations to the full board of tax abatement. The guidelines and procedures packet and the application to request an abatement will be made into one document to be given to all future persons requesting an abatement. Organizational Meeting 4.01 Primary topic: discuss the website information -we will make updates and changes as a group. Also, we will create a sentence for the mission statement of this committee. If time left over, discuss any process points in our procedure if needed. Staff members may inform the incoming committee member(s) of the process, procedures, guidelines and laws to understand and incorporate in their hearings.
