Attendance: Committee Members - Matt Moldenhauer (Citizen Co-Chair), Mike Seekings (Council Co-
Chair), Katie Zimmerman, Karl Brady Jr., David Lewin, Ian Mills, Marijana Boone, Nina
Magnesson
City Staff – Keith Benjamin (Traffic & Transportation), Aaron Holly (Planning)
1. Statement on Ashley River Crossing
a. Committee will draft a resolution to City Council stating its position on the Ashley River
Crossing as well as other major bridge crossings in Charleston including the North Bridge,
James Island Connector, and the Wappoo Cut. Katie Zimmerman has draft resolution
language that will be shared with the committee for their consideration prior to the
March 2019 meeting for approval
2. Approval of Committee Priority Project List/Discussion of 2019 projects/goals and path
forward
a. Committee requests status update on priority project list from Traffic and Transpiration
staff to provide additional context to help steer the committee in its priorities. This
project update will take place at the March 2019 meeting.
3. Vote for Citizen Co-Chair & Vice Chair
a. Matt Moldenhauer and Ian Mills were unanimously re-elected as Citizen Co-Chair and Vice
Chair of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee for 2019
4. Other
a. Keith has a scheduled debrief with the USDOT on the Ashley River Crossing BUILD Grant
application.
b. Committee expressed interest in participating in National Association of City
Transportation Officials (NACTO) trainings if scheduled by City Staff
c. The next meeting of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee is scheduled for
Thursday March 21, 2019 at 5:30pm in the Gaillard Center Public Meeting Room
