Individuals requiring reasonable accommodation in order to participate in a
public meeting should come in to the Village Clerk’s office or call
708-425-7700 at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting.
Public Comment Policy
Persons wishing to address the Mayor and the Board of Trustees during the Public Comment portion
of the Board Meeting are expected to follow these guidelines:
* Individuals will please limit their remarks to 3 minutes, shall be permitted to speak only
once, and will not be allowed to give their time to any other person wishing to speak.
* Please address your remarks to the Mayor and the Board Members as a group.
Argumentation, interrogating or questioning individual members of the Board is not a
legitimate part of Public Comment.
* Those individuals seeking to address the Board will need to do so from the podium and
begin their remarks by stating their name.
* Respect for the duties of the Village Board and for the democratic process will be
adhered to. In this regard, civility and a sense of decorum will be strictly followed.
Comments that are personally condescending will not be permitted. Speakers shall be
courteous and should not make statements that are personally disrespectful to members of
the Board.
* Total public comment shall not exceed 30 minutes.
