Stephen was appointed at City Council meeting on 4/28/26 Commissioner Malek relaces our former Chairperson, Church Wallick who retired in January after over 25 years of service. Discussion of what the Chairperson duties entail. Nominations were opened. After some discussion, Commissioner Stephenson nominated Commissioner Lackey as Chairperson. There was a second and the motion was carried. There was a note by Chief Albo that our Agenda should have a space for Open public comments at this point in the agenda. There were no Public Comments. We will start adding that to the agenda. Secretary Montgomery made a request to update the cover sheet of the Civil Service Rules title page to show the current Commission members, Mayor, and Police Chief, and to correct a spelling error of the word Lateral in the section entitled Rule 9. Chief Albo mentioned that our entry level list has expired and hoped the Commission would allow him to open a 6-month Entry Level Eligibility List. There was a Motion and Second made; Carried Chief Albo also asked the Commission to approve a 1-year Lateral Eligibility List as we will not be hiring right away for that position.
