City of Columbia, Missouri Meeting Minutes City of Columbia New Century Fund, Inc. Board Tuesday, April 11, 2017 Conference Room 8:00 AM Gentry Building 1 S. Seventh Street I. CALL TO ORDER John Gillispie, Chair, called the meeting to order at 8:05 AM. Present: 7- John Gillispie, Andrew Grabau, Brianna Lennon, Robert Nolte, Matthew Williams, Brian Treece and Amy Sajko III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Gillispie moved to approve the agenda with the addition of a welcome to new member Amy Sajko and the opportunity for her to introduce herself to the other members of the Board. Yes: 7- Gillispie, Grabau, Lennon, Nolte, Williams, Treece and Sajko III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Williams moved to approve the Minutes. Lennon seconded. Unnimous approval. IV. TREASURER'S REPORT Treasurer Nolte reported a NCF bank balance of $64,783.10, which includes approximately $12,000 designated for the Lang Award, $15,000 for the MLK Memorial, $25,000 for Parks and Recreation, and under $7,000 for discretionary uses. An upcoming deposit to the Historical Preservation line item will bring the line's balance to over $10,000. Treece moved to approve the Treasurer's Report. Williams seconded. Unanimous approval. V. EAST CAMPUS NEIGHBORHOOD DISCUSSION The Board was presented a request from East Campus Neighborhood Association to utilize the New Century Fund to accept donations to be used to eliminate honeysuckle in the neighborhood. The board did not take any action on this request. REQUEST TO MAKE GRANT FOR PARKS & REC FUND WITH CFCM Board reviewed a request from the Department of Parks and Recreation to disburse $25,000 from their NCF line item to the Community Foundation of Central Missouri to establish a new fund. Sajko moved to approve a tranfer of $25,000 from the New Century Fund to the Community Foundation of Central Missouri to establish the new Coluombia Parks & Recreation Fund of the Community Foundation of Central Missouri. Lennon seconded. unanimous approval. VII. OTHER INFORMATION OR REPORTING FROM FLOOR No other information was shared. VIII. ADJOURNMENT Gillispie made the motion to adjourn. Nolte seconded.
