I. CALL TO ORDER
Board Chair, Scott Cristal, called the meeting to order at 12noon.
II. ROLL CALL
Fred Parry, Boone County Commissioner, was also present.
Present: 10 - Joan Beard, Susan Bell, Scott Cristal, Thomas Schultz, David Thomas, Kimberly
Trabue, Teri Weise, Barth Burgin, Stephanie Hall and Heather Hargrove
Excused: 2- Donald Laird and John LaRocca
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion to approve Minutes as written was passed.
August 28, 2017
Motion was made, seconded and passed to approve the Minutes as
written.
IV. OLD BUSINESS
There was no Old Business.
V. NEW BUSINESS
Beth Mead, CVB Sales Supervisor, introduced the CVB's new Sports Sales
Manager, Zach Franklin.
Beth shared information on recent Board appointments to the CVB Board made
by the City Council on September 18: Stephanie Hall was retained as a member
and three new members were appointed: Melody Marcks, Rusty Strodtman and
Tim Hickman. All these appointments are for a two-year term.

Board
Review of Missouri State High School Activities Association Request for
Proposals
Beth Mead reviewed the Missouri State High School Activities Association
(MSHSAA) RFPs that were issued August 30th. MSHSAA is seeking bids for the
state championships of Wrestling, Track & Field, Speech, Debate & Theatre,
Cross Country and Volleyball for the school years of 2019 - 2023.
The CVB Sales team have been working with Columbia hotels to secure rooms,
competitive rates and comp rooms that were requested in the RFPs. Staff is also
working to secure community support and sponsorships.
Bids are due Monday, October 16.
VI. REPORTS
September 2017 CVB Programs & Projects Update
September 2017 CVB Staff Report: September 1-25
The September CVB Staff report was distributed.
VII. MOTION TO GO INTO CLOSED SESSION
Kim Trabue made a motion to go in to closed session. David Thomas seconded
the motion. Roll Call vote was taken and motion passed unanimously.
Pursuant to section 610.021.1 (12) RSMo, Sealed bids and related documents, until the
bids are opened; and sealed proposals and related documents or any documents
related to a negotiated contract until a contract is executed, or all proposals are rejected;

October 30, 2017
IX. ADJOURNMENT
Motion passed to adjourn at 1:30 p.m.
