COUNCIL WEB SITE Drury had also shared a list of potential new names for the Council in an effort to rebrand. Members also discussed the possibility of keeping the name, but adopting a tag line, which would prevent having to change the name through ordinance. Members discussed the ideas and took votes on them just to measure support. CoMo Active received 6 votes, Be Well Columbia 2 votes, Live Well Columbia 3 votes, Let’s Move CoMo 5 votes, CoMo Fit 4 votes and Move it Boone 0 votes. After that, members votes on the top two and votes equaled CoMo Active 4 votes and Let’s Move CoMo 7 votes. Miller said she had talked to the City’s web master about creating a calendar of events with submission form. He said it was possible to do that but would take several days of work and then would require moderation. He would need to get permission from supervisors to proceed. Miller said it would be also helpful to provide specific examples to him before possibly proceeding. Burks said that Drury is now an administrator of the Council’s Facebook page. Others may also be interested in helping keep the page updated. Members discussed possible activities for the year to put on the web site, including Glow Zumba. Miller said she did not know of any Glow events currently scheduled but she would check. Riel had an idea of offering a kids activity at the Farmers Market, such as a coloring booklet that would promote health and nutrition. Members could set up a table with signage. The idea will be added to the April meeting agenda. Members discussed other ideas including a Kids Fun Run, walking groups and Color Runs. Pass commented that there are so many things already going on in the community, she wondered if it would be beneficial to offer to partner with an event already in existence, as a co-sponsor. Burks said he could create a Google document that members could share and add events that they learn about. Riley said she’d reach out to Columbia Public Schools, Burks will reach out to Boone Hospital, Pass will reach out to MU Health, Riel will reach out to the University of Missouri campus as a whole and Lero will reach out to Veterans United. Raine mentioned the idea of contacting local human resources managers to work on employee fitness incentives. Members discussed sharing ideas with companies if possible to identify some of them. Burks made a motion, seconded by Riley, to table the topic until the next meeting. Motion passed 11-0. VI. BYLAWS PROPOSAL Miller said she needed to follow up with Legal on the idea of changing quorum requirements.
