COLUMBIA TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2022 CALL TO ORDER The City Council Technology Committee met on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at City Hall, 1737 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201. City of Columbia Technology and Software Overview - Ms. Sylvia White, Chief Information Officer / Information Technology Department Received as information. No action was taken. Ms. Sylvia White, Chief Information Officer for the Information Technology Department provided an overview of the City's IT application portfolio. She described the features of several business applications and any known future enhancements. The committee members inquired about gained efficiencies in the permitting process through the use of Energov, responding to applicants through Cornerstone, identifying billing discrepancies through Banner, and closing work orders through CityWorks. Staff was asked about overlapping software applications and the annual cost associated with each application. It was suggested that staff move IFAS, Banner, and Energov to the cloud. Staff was asked to provide a list of applications used by the Columbia Police Department and for an overview of the City's cashiering system. 2. Kronos Update - Ms. Sylvia White, Chief Information Officer, Information Technology Department Received as information. No action was taken. Ms. Sylvia White, Chief Information Officer for the Information Technology Department explained that Kronos went offline on December 11, 2021 due to a ransomware incident. This impacted time keeping and scheduling for the City and all Kronos customers. We regained access to Kronos in mid-January and we worked across departments to go live on February 19, 2022. The committee will reconvene in 60-days to review results and recommendations from the Department Application Survey that is underway.
