Minutes Approval (Georgia Elliott) Request to approve the meeting minutes of August 7, 2024. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 2. Safety and Security Requirements Assurance (Rita Weaver) Request to approve the 2024-2025 Safe School Officer Attestation and Compliance Assurance Form. This form confirms the school is in compliance with Florida law and rules related to safety and security for the 2024-2025 school year. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 3. Safe School Officer Documentation (Rita Weaver) Request to ratify SY 2024-2025 Charter School Safety and Security Requirements Assurance Form subject to the approval of Resolution 2024-042 at the Regular City Commission meeting on October 1, 2024. The Charter School Safety and Security Requirements Assurance Form verifies the school is in compliance with Section 1006.12, Florida Statutes for the school year 2024-2025. (REQUEST TO RATIFY) 4. Statement of Assurance for Exceptional Student Education (ESE) (Rita Weaver) Request to approve the Statement of Assurance for Exceptional Student Education. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 5. Alyssa's Alert Vendor Selection Form (Rita Weaver) Request to ratify the SY 2024-2025 Alyssa's Alert Vendor Selection Form. In accordance with Section 1006.07, Florida Statutes, each public school, including charter schools, shall implement a mobile panic alert system capable of connecting diverse emergency services technologies to ensure real-time coordination. (REQUEST TO RATIFY) 6. Audit Engagement Letter (Rita Weaver) Request to approve Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP as the Independent Auditor for the Coral Springs Charter School for the year ending June 30, 2024. A certified public accounting firm conducts an audit of the Coral Springs Charter School’s financial statements each year. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 7. Computer Science Teacher Certification (Rita Weaver) Request to approve the Coral Springs Charter School to apply for the Florida Department of Education grant opportunity, Computer Science Teacher Certification. The purpose of this project is to cover the costs associated with computer science certification and/or professional learning. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 8. Charter School Medicine/Treatment Authorization Assurances (Rita Weaver) Request to approve the Charter School Medicine/Treatment Authorization Assurances and Signature Page in compliance with Florida Statute 1006.062. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 9. Internet Acceptable Use and Safety Policy (Rita Weaver) Request to approve the Internet Acceptable Use and Safety Policy. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 10. Out-of-Field Waivers (Principal Jodi Robins) Request to approve, per Florida Administrative Code 6A-1.0503, out-of-field waivers that are required for teachers teaching out-of-field. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 11. FY25 Salary Distribution Plan Review (Rita Weaver) Request to approve the FY25 Salary Distribution Plan from the legislative appropriations for Teacher Salary Increase Allocation (TSIA). (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 12. Instructional Evaluation Plan (Rita Weaver) Request to approve the Instructional Personnel Evaluation System. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 13. Progressive Disciplinary Policy (Rita Weaver) Florida school safety requirements in accordance with Florida law, Florida Statute Section 1006.07, effective August 1, 2024. Request to accept policies and actions in compliance with the Statute. (REQUEST TO ACCEPT) Policy Formation and Direction 14. Q4 FY24 Financial Review (Lechyana Knight) Request to accept the fourth quarter financials for the Coral Springs Charter School. (REQUEST TO ACCEPT) Rita Weaver explained the item. Discussion ensued and Ms. Weaver and staff fielded questions from the Board. Motion: To accept the fourth quarter financials. Result: Passed (Unanimously) Mover: Board Member Brook Seconder: Vice Chair Simmons Principal Communications Principal Jodi Robins provided a school update, noting the following: • Student Sabrina Gonzalez was recognized for receiving a commendation from the National Merit Scholarship organization. • Two students were selected for the Coral Springs Youth Ambassador Program. • Quarter 1 ends next Friday. • Upcoming school events were highlighted. Board Communications The Board welcomed students and staff to a new year. Board Member Brook noted he was looking for an ACE intern for his law firm. There was a request to recognize Sabrina Gonzalez at a future meeting.
