Minutes Approval (Georgia Elliott) Request to approve the meeting summary of June 4, 2025 Regular Meeting. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 2. 2025-2026 Charter Schools USA Reading Plan (Principal Jodi Robins) Request to approve the 2025-2026 Charter Schools USA Reading Plan. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 3. Master Safety and Security Policy (Rita Weaver) Request to approve the 2025-2026 Charter School Safety and Security Plan. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 4. Designation of Parent Facilitator (Principal Jodi Robins) Request to approve Jennie Boyer as the Parent Facilitator. As of 2011, the Governing Board must appoint a representative to facilitate parental involvement, provide access to information, assist parents and others with questions and concerns, and resolve disputes. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 5. 2025-2026 Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive (CAP) Grant Proposal - Opt Out (Rita Weaver) Request to opt out of the 2025-2026 Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive (CAP) Grant Proposal. Coral Springs Charter school does not wish to create or expand a career and technical education program that leads to industry certifications included on the CAPE Industry Certification Funding List. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) 6. Alyssa's Alert Vendor Selection Form (Rita Weaver) Request to ratify the SY 2025-2026 Alyssa's Alert Vendor Selection Form. In accordance with Section 1006.07, Florida Statutes, each public school, including charter schools, shall implement a mobile panic alert system capable of connecting diverse emergency services technologies to ensure real-time coordination. (REQUEST TO RATIFY) Policy Formation and Direction 7. Coral Springs Charter School Provider User Registration Agreement - Background Screening (Rita Weaver) Request to approve the Florida Department of Education Provider User Registration Agreement for Coral Springs Charter School. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) Rita Weaver explained the item. Motion: To approve the Charter School Provider User Registration Agreement – Background Screening for Coral Springs Charter School. Result: Passed 5 – 0 (Unanimously) Mover: Board Member Brook Seconder: Board Member Cerra 8. 2025-2026 Mental Health Assistance Allocation Plan - Post Legislative Session Final Draft (Rita Weaver) Request to approve opt out of the Broward County School district plan and to approve the Mental Health Assistance Plan final draft for Coral Springs Charter School. Coral Springs Charter School is committed to increasing access to mental health support for its students. The Mental Health Assistance Plan defines strategies to assess students’ needs and deliver appropriate services. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) Rita Weaver presented the item. Discussion ensued Motion: To approve opt out of the Broward County School district plan and the Mental Health Assistance Plan final draft. Result: Passed 5 – 0 (Unanimously) Mover: Board Member Simmons Seconder: Board Member Cerra Principal Communications 9. School Survey Results, Spring 2024-2025 (Principal Jodi Robins) Request to accept the 2024-2025 Spring Survey Results for the Coral Springs Charter School. (REQUEST TO ACCEPT) Principal Jodi Robins presented the item. Rita Weaver highlighted that the Charter School exceeded the CSUSA network results across all stakeholder groups. Motion: To accept the 2024-2025 Spring Survey Result for the Coral Springs Charter School. Result: Passed 5 – 0 (Unanimously) Mover: Board Member Brook Seconder: Board Member Cerra 10. Teacher Salary Increase Allocation Final Expenditure Report (Principal Jodi Robins) Request to approve the Teacher Salary Increase Allocation Final Expenditure Report. (REQUEST TO APPROVE) Rita Weaver explained the item. Motion: To approve the Teacher Salary Increase Allocation Final Expenditure Report. Result: Passed 5 – 0 (Unanimously) Mover: Board Member Cerra Seconder: Board Member McHugh Principal Robins reported on the following topics: student athletes on site health screenings over the summer; building improvements, cleaning, and maintenance completed throughout the year, teacher professional development; staff positions filled and vacancies; and parent and student orientations held. Principal Robins fielded questions from the Board. The Board requested to know the school’s theme for the new school year. Principal Jodi Robins announced that this year’s theme is "Tried and True: Good to Great." The Board requested Principal Robins to have school staff work with City staff to assist with planning the 2nd Annual Base Mile 5K. Principal Robins also reported that the Athletics Department hosted a golf tournament at the Parkland Golf and Country Club which raised $30,000 for the Athletics department. The Board requested that Principal Robins notify City staff of any future events happening at the school. Board Communications The Board commented on the issue of school uniforms, uniform policy, and enforcement. Chair Metayer Bowen opened the floor to the Charter School to provide a response. The Charter School reserved their response for the upcoming Workshop. City Manager Givens announced that the board meeting and workshop are scheduled for November 5th, 2025. Ms. Givens congratulated the Police Department for their collaboration with Charter School U.S.A. on establishing a safety perimeter and successfully connecting the junior and senior parking lots. Education Officer April Wyche commended Charter School staff for their leadership and extended wishes for a successful school year.
