April 22, 2026 Retreat Update
Mayor Brook noted that the purpose of today’s workshop was to revisit the direction made at the
April 22, 2026 City Commission Retreat to place a referendum question on the November 2026
ballot to remove commission compensation from the City Charter. City Attorney Hearn reviewed
the cost associated with adding a referendum question to the November ballot.
Consensus was reached not to pursue adding a referendum question to this year’s ballot
regarding commission compensation.
Commission Communications
Mayor Brook commented on the completed remodel of Kiwanis Hall and highlighted potential
new programming opportunities, such as Cooking with the Commission.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:17 p.m.
