NEW BUSINESS
A. TAB Seat Vacancy Reminder
Mr. Herron informed Chairman Raymond’s time as Chairman has been served and the Town is
advertising the open position. Discussion ensues.
B. Education of How to Manuever the DDI
Mr. Herron noted that the DDI carries 28,000 vehicles per day which is about 8,000 over
capacity. This contributes to congestion and outlines ongoing and planned DOT signal
improvements while emphasizing the need for faster, more responsive maintenance. The board
discussed education and signage strategies to reduce intersection blockages along with
community outreach through targeted community meetings, designated TAB liaisons for certain
communities, and regular updates via Cornelius Today.
C. Top 5 congestion improvements from Town Board and TAB priorities and roles
Commissioner Osborne discussed Town Board adopting five priority items as the most
important and feasible for short-term traffic improvements. He emphasized focusing on these
rather than the full list of 120 items and asked board members to review and provide feedback.
A vote on a document outlining focus areas, roles, responsibilities, and TAB processes is
scheduled for the January 20 Town Board meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Priorities Spreadsheet Work Session
Mr. Herron suggested tabling this item, noting that the top five list is easier to address than the
full list, and recommended selecting priorities in February or at a future date.
B. Final comments from Chairman
Chairman Raymond gives his final comments. Discussion ensued.
NEXT MEETING
The next regular meeting is scheduled for February 3rd.
ADJOURNMENT
