Nimtz (Phone), T. Farley, V. Kelly, J. Newton-Butt; R. Batimana; M. Shrikhande; T. Sherwin-Cole Commissioners Absent: Staff/Council present: S. VanDeWoestyne Guest(s): N/A Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by V. Kelly. Commissioners introduced themselves and welcomed new commissioner T. Sherwin-Cole. Approval of Minutes: J. Newton-Butt moved to have the minutes of the May 2022 meeting approved, M. Shrikhande seconded. All ayes, 1 abstention (T. Sherwin-Cole). New Business: 1. S. VanDeWoestyne presented an update on the five police officer hiring processes that were completed in 2022. Davenport is struggling to find qualified applicants for police officer just like every other agency nation-wide. A continuous process is going to be tried in 2023. 2. S. VanDeWoestyne presented the statistics from the last fire fighter hiring process, which resulted in the certified list of 40 qualified candidates, with 10 already hired. Adjournment J. Newton-Butt moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by T. Sherwin-Cole. All ayes.
