MINUTES CITY OF DEKALB CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING APRIL 13, 2015 The City Council of DeKalb, Illinois held a Committee of the Whole Meeting on Monday, April 13, 2015 in the City Council Chambers of the DeKalb Municipal Building, 200 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, Illinois. Mayor Rey called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. A. ROLL CALL City Clerk Marcia Sweigert called the roll and the following members of City Council were present: Alderman Bill Finucane, Alderman Kristen Lash, Alderman Bob Snow, Alderman Ron Naylor, Alderman Monica O’Leary, and Mayor John Rey. Alderman Dave Jacobson and Alderman Dave Baker were absent at roll call. Also present were City Manager Anne Marie Gaura, Assistant City Manager Patty Hoppenstedt, City Attorney Dean Frieders, Police Chief Gene Lowery, Fire Chief Eric Hicks, Community Development Director Ellen Divita, Interim Director of Public Works John Laskowski, and City Clerk Marcia Sweigert. B. ITEMS ALSO ON THE REGULAR AGENDA None. C. CONSIDERATIONS None. D. RECESS FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL MOTION Alderman O’Leary motioned to recess to executive session; seconded by Alderman Naylor in order to discuss: 1. Personnel as Provided for in 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1). Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes April 13, 2015 Page 2 of 2 2. Collective Bargaining as Provided for in 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2). 3. Pending or Imminent Litigation as Provided for in 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(11). VOTE Motion carried on a roll call vote of 6-0-2. Aye: Alderman Finucane, Alderman Lash, Alderman Snow, Alderman Naylor, Alderman O’Leary and Mayor Rey. Mayor Rey declared the motion passed. Mayor Rey closed the meeting to the public at 5:07 p.m. Mayor Rey opened the meeting to the public at 6:35 p.m. E. ADJOURNMENT Alderman Lash moved to adjourn the meeting; seconded by Alderman Finucane. Motion carried on a voice vote.
