Minutes Business, Arts, Workforce, & Aviation Services Committee Committee Members: Hinds, Chair; Flynn, Vice-Chair; Clark, Gilmore, Herndon, Ortega Committee Staff: Anne Wallace Wednesday, March 29, 2023, 1:30 PM City & County Building, Council Chambers, Room 450 Attendance Present: 8- Hinds, Flynn, Gilmore, Torres, Ortega, Black, CdeBaca, Kashmann Absent: 2- Clark, Herndon Briefings 23-0337 Update from the State Demographer Action Items 23-0328 Amends a contract with Mile High United Way, Inc. to add $5,000,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds for a new contract total of $10,000,000 and eighteen months for a new end date of 6-30-2026 to administer the Business Impact Opportunity Fund program, which supports small businesses impacted by COVID-19 with financial and technical assistance, citywide (202366896-01/202262543-01). A motion offered by Councilmember Gilmore, duly seconded by Councilmember Ortega, that Council Resolution 23-0328 be approved for filing, carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Hinds, Flynn, Gilmore, Torres, Ortega Nay: 0 Absent: 2- Clark, Herndon Consent Items Block Vote A motion offered to approve the following items en bloc, carried by the following vote: City and County of Denver Page 1 Printed on 3/29/2023 Minutes Business, Arts, Workforce, & Aviation Services Committee Wednesday, March 29, 2023 Aye: 5- Hinds, Flynn, Gilmore, Torres, Ortega Nay: 0 Absent: 2- Clark, Herndon 23-0329 Approves a revenue sharing agreement with Denver Film Society for a $200 per show programming fee and 15% of net ticket sales in compensation annually, not to exceed $250,000 for the contract term, and through 12-31-2024 to produce summer movie screenings as part of the Film of the Rocks series at Red Rocks Amphitheatre (THTRS-202265571). A motion offered that Council Resolution 23-0329 be approved by consent en bloc, carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Hinds, Flynn, Gilmore, Torres, Ortega Nay: 0 Absent: 2- Clark, Herndon 23-0330 Approves a contract with Coffman Engineers, Inc. for $2,500,000 and for 3 years, plus 2 one-year options to extend, to provide professional design services to plan, design, and test changes and modifications to various life safety systems at Denver International Airport in Council District 11 (PLANE-202263626). A motion offered that Council Resolution 23-0330 be approved by consent en bloc, carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Hinds, Flynn, Gilmore, Torres, Ortega Nay: 0 Absent: 2- Clark, Herndon 23-0331 Approves a contract with Jensen Hughes, Inc. for $2,500,000 and for 3 years, plus 2 one-year options to extend, to provide professional design services to plan, design, and test changes and modifications to various life safety systems at Denver International Airport in Council District 11 (PLANE-202366335).
