maintenance district - Phase II Broadway Pedestrian Mall in Council District 7; there will
also be a required public hearing on Council Bill 23-1306 changing the zoning
classification for 1925 South Cook Street in University Park; and a required public
hearing on Council Bill 23-1297 changing the zoning classification for 4583 North Yates
Street in Berkeley. Anyone wishing to speak on either of these matters must go online
to sign up during the recess of Council.

Council President Torres also announced that Council is scheduled to sit as the
quasi-judicial Board of Equalization to consider reduction of total cost assessments for
Local Maintenance Districts. One written protest of assessment for the Phase II
Broadway Pedestrian Mall, which is located in Council District 7, was filed with the
Manager of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure by the deadline of
October 19, 2023. Therefore, Council will sit as the Board of Equalization for the Phase
II Broadway Pedestrian Mall.
No written protests of assessment were filed with the Manager of the Department of
Transportation and Infrastructure by the deadline of October 19, 2023, for the following
Local Maintenance Districts and, therefore, Council will not sit as the Board of
