Minutes Safety, Housing, Education & Homelessness Committee Committee Members: Kashmann, Chair; Torres, Vice-Chair; Sandoval, Kniech, Flynn, Sawyer Committee Staff: Emily Lapel Wednesday, December 18, 2019, 10:30 AM City & County Building, Room 391 Attendance Present: 4- Kashmann, Torres, Kniech, Sawyer Absent: 2- Sandoval, Flynn Action Items 19-1380 Amends a contract with Bayaud Enterprises, Inc. by adding $1,025,300 for a new total of $2,439,031 and one year for a new end date of 12-31-20 to provide same-day work experience to individuals experiencing homelessness as part of the citywide Denver Day Works program (SOCSV-2018-42632-03, SOCSV-201952518-04). A motion offered by Councilmember Kniech, duly seconded by Councilmember Sawyer, that Council Resolution 19-1380 be approved for filing. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Kashmann, Torres, Kniech, Sawyer, Clark Nay: 0 Absent: 2- Sandoval, Flynn 19-1375 Amends a contract with Mental Health Center of Denver by adding $700,000 for a new total of $1,700,000 and one year for a new end date of 12-31-20 for operation of the Crisis Intervention Response Unit, known as the co-responder program, which pairs a mental health clinician with a police officer to respond to calls involving individuals with suspected mental health needs (ENVHL - 201952894-01). A motion offered by Councilmember Torres, duly seconded by Councilmember Sawyer, that Council Resolution 19-1375 be approved for filing. A motion offered by Councilmember Torres, duly seconded by Councilmember Kniech, that Council Resolution 19-1374 be approved for filing.
