Minutes Safety, Housing, Education & Homelessness Committee Committee Members: Kashmann, Chair; Torres, Vice-Chair; Sandoval, Kniech, Flynn, Sawyer Committee Staff: Emily Lapel Wednesday, September 2, 2020, 10:00 AM City & County Building, Room 450 Attendance Present: 12 - Kashmann, Kniech, Sandoval, Sawyer, CdeBaca, Herndon, Ortega, Torres, Clark, Black, Flynn, Gilmore Action Items 20-0895 Approves a collective bargaining agreement with the Denver Police Protective Association for 2021 and 2022 including: a 0% salary increase in 2021; suspending the holiday pay provisions for 10 holidays in 2021; reducing the City’s contribution to the Denver Police Retiree Health Fund by $360,000 in 2021; creation of a one-time 100-hour time bank in 2022 to be used in the future like vacation leave; a 2.77% salary increase for 2022; and expressing hazard/specialty pay in terms of a percentage of salary effective January 1, 2022. The agreement results in $4.9 million in city budget savings in 2021. A motion made by Councilmember Flynn and duly seconded by Councilmember Sawyer that Council Resolution 20-0895 be approved for filing.
