Minutes Safety, Housing, Education & Homelessness Committee Committee Members: Kashmann, Chair; Torres, Vice-Chair; Sandoval, Kniech, Flynn, Sawyer Committee Staff: Emily Lapel Wednesday, November 3, 2021, 10:30 AM City & County Building, Council Chambers, Room 450 Attendance Present: 7- Kashmann, Kniech, Sandoval, Sawyer, Torres, Flynn, Gilmore Action Items 21-1251 Approves a contract with The Empowerment Program, Inc. for $1,350,000 and through 12-31-24 to provide community corrections case management services for women located at the residential facility at 4280 Kearney Street in Council District 8 (SAFTY-202160054). A motion offered by Councilmember Sawyer, duly seconded by Councilmember Torres, that Council Resolution 21-1251 be approved for filing, carried by the following vote: Aye: 7- Kashmann, Kniech, Sandoval, Sawyer, Torres, Flynn, Gilmore Nay: 0 21-1310 Amends Chapters 4 and 10 of the Denver Revised Municipal Code to require energy performance and greenhouse gas emissions reductions in existing commercial and multifamily buildings and future electrification requirements for existing buildings. A motion offered by Councilmember Flynn, duly seconded by Councilmember Sawyer, that Council Bill 21-1310 be approved for filing, carried by the following vote: Aye: 7- Kashmann, Kniech, Sandoval, Sawyer, Torres, Flynn, Gilmore Nay: 0 There will be 15 minutes of public comment on item 21-1310. Council Resolution 21-1302 was approved by consent 21-1303 Approves a contract with Jewish Family Service of Colorado, Inc. for $625,000 and through 12-31-23 to provide rapid re-housing services for people experiencing homelessness, citywide (HOST 202159318).
