Minutes Safety, Housing, Education & Homelessness Committee Committee Members: Kashmann, Chair; Torres, Vice-Chair; Sandoval, Kniech, Flynn, Sawyer Committee Staff: Emily Lapel Wednesday, December 8, 2021, 10:30 AM City & County Building, Council Chambers, Room 450 Attendance Present: 6- Kashmann, Kniech, Sandoval, Sawyer, Torres, Gilmore Absent: 1- Flynn Action Items 21-1493 For an ordinance amending chapters 14, 34, 37, 38, and 42 of the Denver Revised Municipal Code to restructure the weapons code, properly categorize and clarify certain offenses involving minors and non-weapons offenses, prohibit non-serialized firearms in the City, and make conforming amendments. A motion offered by Councilmember Torres, duly seconded by Councilmember Sandoval, that Council Bill 21-1493 be approved for filing, carried by the following vote: Aye: 6- Kashmann, Kniech, Sandoval, Sawyer, Torres, Gilmore Nay: 0 Absent: 1- Flynn There will be 15 minutes of public comment on item 21-1493, to sign up to speak visit www.denvergov.org/councilpublicinput. A) Briefing B) Public Comment C) Discussion and Action Consent Items 21-1403 Approves the surplus property donation of the granite fallen officer memorial to the Denver Police Law Enforcement Museum, Inc., doing business as the Denver Police Museum. Council Bill 21-1403 was approved by consent City and County of Denver Page 1 Printed on 12/8/2021 Minutes Safety, Housing, Education & Homelessness Committee Wednesday, December 8, 2021 21-1467 Amends an intergovernmental agreement with Denver Health and Hospital Authority by adding $497,181 for a new total of $3,200,518 and six months for a new end date of 6-30-22 for child abuse and neglect medical evaluations, consultation services, medical passport services and nursing health assessment triage and training (SOCSV-2018-44199-04; SOCV-202161078-04). Council Bill 21-1467 was approved by consent 21-1490 Approves a grant agreement with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for $1,048,570 and for one year to receive federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to provide services including contact tracing and case investigation, communications, messaging, and outreach to hard to reach populations, citywide (202161353).
