Minutes Safety, Housing, Education & Homelessness Committee Committee Members: Kashmann, Chair; Torres, Vice-Chair; Sandoval, Kniech, Flynn, Sawyer Committee Staff: Emily Lapel Wednesday, February 23, 2022, 10:30 AM City & County Building, Council Chambers, Room 450 Attendance Present: 5- Kashmann, Sandoval, Sawyer, Flynn, Gilmore Absent: 2- Kniech, Torres Action Items 22-0228 Approves a performance loan agreement with Mile High Ministries for $1,825,000 and for 60 years to construct a 61-unit affordable housing rental project known as Clara Brown Commons, serving low- to moderate-income households and located at 3700 Gaylord Street in Council District 9 (HOST-202161467) A motion offered by Councilmember Flynn, duly seconded by Councilmember Sawyer, that Council Resolution 22-0228 be approved for filing, carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Kashmann, Sawyer, Flynn, Gilmore Nay: 0 Absent: 3- Kniech, Sandoval, Torres Briefings 22-0235 Vera Institute: Office of Neighborhood Safety Consent Items 22-0216 Amends a contract with Impact Charitable to add 9 months for a new end date of 9-30-2022 to allow additional time for disbursement of funding for basic pressing needs including housing, utilities, food, health care, transportation, and childcare to Denver residents who were previously employed and lost their employment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. No change to contract amount (HRCRS-202261951).
