Community Forestry Grant
Money is available from the Morton Arboretum to fund community programs. Susan worked with the Arboretum to start
the grant application process which would be used to fund the City’s Tree Inventory Management Plan. This grant is in
the form of a 50/50 participation with a value of up to $15,000.
The work funded would be creating the plan, doing the inventory (species, location, ratings, etc.) and uploaded into the
GIS. We need council approval to apply for the funds.
Benna proposed a motion that the grant process move forward through Public Services; seconded by Larry and passed.
The Arbor Specification Manual (Davey) must be submitted as part of the process.

Discussion:
Kim revised the questionnaire to include the email address so that the head of the selection committee can
correspond with applications to gather more information for awarding and writing the accompanying story.
Conclusions:
It would be in accordance with the EBTC mission if we could advise people on what plants/trees in their yards
are considered invasive so if they wanted they could take appropriate action.
