City of Edwardsville Council Proceedings May 01, 2018 The regularly scheduled meeting of the Edwardsville City Council was held at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers with Mayor Patton presiding. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present. Mayor Patton called for roll of the Council Aldermen Burns, Risavy, Morrison, Krause, Farrar, Louer, and Stack answered present on roll call. Alan Vest, 805 Troy Road spoke regarding the Citizen’s Climate Lobby goals and May 8, 2018 open meeting at the Center for Spirituality and Sustainability at SIUE regarding climate change. Following a roll call of 7 ayes, Mayor Patton read a Proclamation requested by A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois naming May, 2018 as Motorcycle Month. Motion Carried Mayor Patton recognized the number of volunteers who serve the City including Junior Service Club, Land of Goshen Rotary, Dirty Dozen, Edwardsville Community Foundation, EHS Student Council, EHS Band, EHS Orchestra, EHS Choir, EHS Interact, Glen/Ed Ministerial Alliance, Edwardsville Rotary, Whitley’s Wishes, Faith in Action, Edwardsville Neighbors, and Habitat for Humanity. Mayor Patton gave a Power Point presentation on the ongoing projects of The City of Edwardsville. Such as the Joint Public Safety Facility, Plummer Family Park, the completion of many projects within the city. He also acknowledged all of the new investors. Mayor Patton presented municipal comparative statistics regarding sales taxes, real estate taxes, personal property taxes Mayor Patton then recognized each Aldermen from their prospective ward, and commended them on their dedication and years of service.
