Edwardsville – SIUE Community Destination Group March 20, 2018 Present: Chad Verbais-Chair, Doug Rohrer, Kim Durr, Jessica DeSpain, Paul Pitts, Walter Williams, Cheryl Watson Absent: Ramon DeShazer, Kelly Jo Karnes, Matt Parrott, Megan Gooch, Luke Jansen Chad opened the meeting at 6:00 p.m. Goshen Market: - Will be at SIUE every Tuesday in April and again in late summer when the semester starts, every Tuesday. Preview: Chad and Doug manned the table, talked to about 50 people. Transfer Day is March 30, might need a volunteer. Chad submitted the paperwork for our group to have a parking account. Financials – Doug: All invoices are paid, leaving $994.94. Still need to order large totes. Our budget next year is $8900. A-Frames – Kelly Jo: Nothing there now. Cheryl will coordinate with Kelly Jo to keep them current. Springboard – Chad: Ideas for updating our video: interview Chava’s and/or Sour Mash…the Mayor, Jon Harris, Paula Buscher. Video could be shot at 222, the splash pad, or the new Governor’s Plaza. Chad will check with Doc & Norm’s re: buses. SIUE has some new video from around town. High School Counselor Fly-In: Counselors from Chicago and Kansas City will be here this Friday at the Wildey, 8:15 a.m. at the Wildey. 222 Artisan Bakery will cater. Kim states that Chicago enrollment is way up. The counselors are staying at the Edwardsville Holiday Inn and had dinner last evening at Mike Shannon’s. Walter reports that Tim Harr, City Administrator, would like to see an Impact Statement showing the results of what we do. Jessica will organize that report.  Marcus Kwaza was the Rotary Student of the Month. He will also be honored at City Council tonight.  Consider promoting Edwardsville at a table at the campus market.  Order at least 500 large red tote bags.  Check with Mailing Methods about prices for bulk mailings. Next meeting on Tuesday, April 17, at 6pm., might stuff tote bags. Meeting adjourned at 7:00pm.
