Edwardsville – SIUE Community Destination Group May 16, 2018 Present: Chad Verbais-Chair, Doug Rohrer, Kim Durr, Jessica DeSpain, Mackenzie Rogers, Molly Smith, Cheryl Watson Absent: Kelly Jo Karnes, Matt Parrott, Paul Pitts, Sadie Spears, Walter Williams Chad opened the meeting at 6:10 p.m. April minutes approved. More introductions with new student leaders. Goshen Market: - SIUE booth full every week. Kim prepares the schedule. Financials – Doug: Our new fiscal year budget is $8,900. A-Frames – Kelly Jo: Cheryl will send event flyers to new student members to see if they can get city events posted. Springboard – Chad: The updated video might not be ready for the first parent tour. Interviews include Sour Mash, the Mayor, PD Chief Keeven, SIUE head basketball coaches Jon Harris and Paula Buscher, and 222 Artisan Bakery. SIUE has some new video from around town. Jessica is working on an Impact Statement showing the results of what we do. Chad will ask Betsy for some old pictures.  Rotary Student of the Month continues.  Ask Brad Hewitt about 23 consecutive semesters of above average GPA scores for student athletes for possible recognition at City Council.  Send your availability to Chad for Preview Days.  Always looking for suggestions for Traditions.  Sub-committee for Welcome Back Party at Township Park includes Jessica as Chair, Kim, Chad, Molly, and Mackenzie. Ideas include food trucks and give out prizes on the buses to get the students to utilize them. Next meeting on Tuesday, June 19, at 6pm., might stuff tote bags. Meeting adjourned at 7:00pm and we stayed to stuff tote bags.
