Chambers of City Hall, located at 118 Hillsboro Avenue in Edwardsville, Illinois. A list of those in
attendance is attached.
Minutes from the November 14, 2018 meeting were approved by acclimation.
The Committee discussed the current health insurance plan, which is provided by Cigna. The
Committee shared the following feedback gathered from employee:
- The $30 reimbursement of the specialist copay is great.
- Employees have not had any issues with providers accepting Cigna.
- Employees need to be educated on the deductible reimbursement benefit.
- The benefit for crowns should be higher.
- The City should pay more towards dependent coverage.
- The wellness program is difficult to navigate.
Amanda Tucker shared that the Human Resources department has received few complaints regarding
Cigna.
Representatives from Cornerstone shared that the 2020 renewal from Cigna was received and the
premium has increased by 25%. This is due to a number of factors, one of which being the City’s
current loss ratio of 109%. Cornerstone will bid our coverage to other carriers in the market place and
present options to the City in November.
Motion to adjourn made by Bob Pfeiffer and seconded by Jeff Berkbigler. Motion carried by
acclimation.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 a.m.
