Edwardsville Historic Preservation DATE: June 14, 2017 Commission TIME: 7:00 p.m. PLACE: Council June Meeting Chambers, City HallAgenda 118 Hillsboro Avenue, Edwardsville, IL 62025 I. CALL TO ORDER- Casey Weeks called the meeting to order at 7:01 II. ROLL CALL- Present Joe Hutton, Kurt Ackerman, Bob Nickrent, Casey Weeks, Andrew Payne Associate Members: Cindy Reinhardt Also Present: David Sirko, Eric Williams, Hal Patton III. CITIZENS WISHING TO ADDRESS HPC a. Mayor Hal Patton and Jeff Pauk – Governor’s Plaza and Robinson Family Plaque- The Mayor spoke about the plan for Governor’s Plaza. Jean Cayle will be on the City’s agenda for HPC memvership. b. He also talked about the plans for a 200 year celebration c. Mrs. Zimmerman voiced her concern with the consistency of the zoning in town, especially on North Main Street, as well as the distribution of TIF money. He and the mayor had discussion about how she could get her property rezoned for future use. IV. COA DESIGN REVIEW a. COA #1 Location: 142 N. Main Owner: J.G. Property Management Project: Front elevation window replacement Joe made a motion to discuss, Tome second. Joe had previously inspected the windows and recommended they were suitable to be restores. The committee discussed the window trim and the preservation of it. Fire Chief spoke on the safety of the windows. Kurt made a motion to deny. Approve: Joe, Kurt, Bob, Casey, Andrew b. COA #2 Location: 516 East Avenue Owner: Patty Freumuth Project: Demolition of existing garage and construction of new garage Bob made a motion to discuss, Joe second. It was mentioned that the new garage does not match the house. Casey reviewed the HPC guidelines on garages. The Committee proposed that the demo be approved but the homeowner come back with design details. Kurt made a motion to deny, Andrew second. Denied: Joe, Kurt, Bob, Casey, Andrew c. COA #3 Location: 1306 St. Louis Street Owner: Adam Celuch Project: New wood fence Kurt made a motion to discuss, Kurt second Kurt made a motion to approve, Bob second. Approved: Joe, Kurt, Bob, Casey, Andrew d. COA #4 Location: 511 N. Main Street Owner: Virginia Burgess Project: Demolition Joe made a motion to accept, Bob second Cindy mentioned that this wasn’t a signed COA. No vote was taken. V. INFORMAL DESIGN REVIEW (not in historic district) a. 201 East Vandalia Exterior Renovation No discussion needed VI. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF HPC MEETING in May. Approved. All in favor VII. FINANCIAL REPORT Kurt needs to be paid for the purchasing of the books on window standards. Bob recommended renewing the national trust membership, Kurt second. VIII. CORRESPONDENCE None IX. Nominating Committee- Bob requested to defer. Suggested Jen to stay as President, Tom as Vice President and Andrew as Secretary. XI. NEW BUSINESS- None XII.
