Board of Fire & Police Commissioners Second Floor Conference Room, South Tower May 18, 2023 5:00 p.m. Present: Cmmr. Aubree Flickema Cmmr. Jodi Perkins Cmmr. Bill Williamson Cmmr. Thomas Aagesen Ana Lalley, Chief of Police Mike Rothecker, Assistant Fire Chief Absent: Staff: Tim Bennett Guest: Anthony Ortiz Dan Rink, Assistant Fire Chief The meeting was called to order at 5:05 p.m. by Cmmr. Aagesen. Chief Lalley presented a plaque to Anthony Ortiz in recognition of work with the Fire and Police Board. Chief Lalley thanked him on behalf of the Board. Assistant Chief Rink thanked Anthony on behalf of the Fire Department and Chief Cagann. Anthony expressed thanks to the Board. Approval of the Minutes Cmmr. Flickema made the motion, seconded by Cmmr. Perkins to approve the March 16, 2023 minutes. Motion carried 6-0 Set meeting dates for Police Officer interviews Chief Lalley noted dates are June 3, 4,11 from 8:00 am to 6 pm. Chief Lalley stated they may need another day. Assistant Chief Rothecker stated that Fire would not be present for June 11th and was not available for the remaining days as well. It was discussed that without fire a quorum would still be present. The Board discussed that if another day needed to be done June 12th from 6 pm to 10 pm would be scheduled. Executive Session Chief Lalley made the motion to enter at 5:20 pm to Executive Session and Cmmr. Williamson seconded the motion. Motion carried at 6-0 Cmmr. Perkins made the motion, seconded by Cmmr Flickema to return to open session at 5:45 pm. Motion carried 6-0 Cmmr Williamson made the motion , seconded by Cmmr Flickema to remove the discussed candidates in Executive Session from the interview process. Motion carried 6-0.
