NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FISHERS BOARD OF METROPOLITAN FIRE MERIT COMMISSIONERS
In accordance with Ind. Code §§36-8-3.5-10 and 5-3-1, the Fishers Board of Metropolitan
Fire Merit Commissioners (the “Commission”) hereby provides NOTICE that on January 22, 2024
at 6:30 pm at the City of Fishers Fire Department, 2 Municipal Drive, Fishers, IN, 46038, the
Commission will conduct a public hearing during its duly noticed public meeting to consider an
amendment to its merit rules. The amendment is in furtherance of the Commission’s stated
purpose to establish the processes for selection, promotion, serious discipline, demotion, and/or
dismissal of merit firefighter and to provide review and oversight of those processes, and to
conform to recent changes in Indiana law. At the hearing, any interested person of the unit, district,
or territory and any member of the department must be afforded an opportunity to present both
oral and written evidence on any matter relating to the adoption of the proposed rules. The
commission shall give due consideration to this evidence in making the commission's final
decision concerning the adoption of the proposed rules. A copy of the proposed amendment is
available for inspection at the City of Fishers Fire Department.
