DOWNTOWN ARCHITECTUAL REVIEW BOARD MEETING MINUTES CITY OF FOND DU LAC, WISCONSIN 160 S Macy St - Meeting Room A September 9, 2025 12:00 PM CALL TO ORDER A. ROLL CALL Present: Tim Kent Fr. Matthew Kirk Sam Meyer Chris Smith Shawn Willey Absent: None Administrative Staff: Dyann Benson, Community Development Director Others in Attendance: None Chairperson Tim Kent declared a quorum present at 12:00 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES August 5, 2025 A Motion was made by Shawn Willey to approve the minutes of the August 5, 2025 meeting of the Downtown Architectural Review Board and seconded by Fr. Matthew James Kirk and the motion was Passed. Ayes: Kent, Kirk, Meyer, Smith, Willey ACTIONS 50 North Portland Street Exterior Façade Alteration – Paint and Sign Spoke in Support: Sam Meyer, Project Applicant, 127 N Main St, FDL Motion made by Willey to approve the exterior façade alteration for paint and the new ground sign as presented subject to the listed conditions. The project approval is based on findings that the alterations comply with the spirit and intent of the Downtown Design Overlay District regulations and the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership Design Guidelines. Conditions of approval: 1. Tenant sign panels for ground sign will match the exterior paint color (SQ 9600 Amory). Seconded by Smith. ROLL CALL VOTE: Aye – Kent, Kirk, Smith, Willey Nay – None Abstain - Meyer Carried. North Main Street Corridor Grant Application Exterior Façade Alteration – Paint and Sign Spoke in Support: Bill Lodi, Project Applicant, 258 N Main St Motion made by Kirk to approve the replacement of the windows on the second floor subject to the listed conditions. The project approval is based on findings that the alterations comply with the spirit and intent of the North Main Street Corridor Long Term Vision Plan and its design guidelines. Conditions of approval: 1. Wood stain on front logs of the façade will be lighter in color. 2. Cedar shingles will be stained a darker color than logs on façade. 3. Sand Trap paint color for building facades on side and/or rear. 4. Replace railings at entrance. 5. Add planters next to building. 6. Landscape updates. Seconded by Willey.  ROLL CALL VOTE: Aye – Kent, Kirk, Meyer, Smith, Willey Nay – None Carried.
