CALL TO ORDER
The July 14, 2014 special meeting of the Geneva City Council was called to order at
10:06 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall by Ald. Don Cummings. Aldermen
present: Chuck Brown, Mike Bruno, Don Cummings, Dorothy Flanagan, Dean Kilburg,
Craig Maladra, Richard Marks, Mary Seno, Tom Simonian, Ron Singer. Aldermen
absent: None. Also attending: Mayor Kevin Burns, Asst. City Administrator/Dir. of
Administrative Services Stephanie Dawkins, Interim Public Works Dir. Brian Schiber,
Interim Electric Division Superintendent Hal Wright, Streets Division Superintendent
Chris Bong.
ITEMS OF BUSINESS
Approve Resolution 2014-49 Authorizing Renewal of Transportation and Balancing
Agreement with NICOR for Gas Service to Geneva Generation Facility
Moved by Ald. Flanagan, seconded by Ald. Mike Bruno to approve Res. 2014-49
Authorizing Renewal of Transportation and Balancing Agreement with NICOR for Gas
Service to Geneva Generation Facility. Roll call:
AYES: 10 (Ald. Brown, Bruno, Cummings, Flanagan, Kilburg, Maladra, Marks,
Seno, Simonian, Singer)
NAYS: 0 MOTION CARRIED
Waive Fee for Special Council Meeting
Moved by Ald. Brown, seconded by Ald. Flanagan that the fee for the special Council
meeting be waived. Carried unanimously by voice vote. MOTION CARRIED
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, moved by Ald. Marks, seconded by Ald. Simonian to
adjourn the special Geneva City Council meeting. Carried by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 10:07 p.m.

Executive Summary:
The City of Geneva electric division has renegotiated the Transportation and Balancing
with Nicor for Gas Service to the Geneva Generation Facility (GGF). The last agreement
was a ten year agreement with a minimum bill provision to pay for the gas main
extension required to feed GGF. This agreement is a four year agreement with the
minimum bill provision eliminated. While the actual rates have increased, the overall
result is a 13% decrease in the annual cost based on last year’s usage values and the
elimination of the minimum bill provision. The renegotiated agreement has been
reviewed by Attorney Radovich and financial consultant Gary Price.

RESOLUTION NO. 2014-49
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
Approval of Transportation and Balancing Agreement with Nicor
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GENEVA,
KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1: That the City Administrator is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement
on behalf of the City of Geneva, with Nicor for Transportation and Balancing of the Gas Supply
to the Geneva Generation Facility.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective from and after its passage as in
accordance with law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Geneva, Kane County, Illinois, and this 14th
day of July, 2014.
