GENEVA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MAY 2, 2016 CALL TO ORDER The May 2, 2016 meeting of the Geneva City Council was called to order at 7:06 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall by Mayor Kevin Burns. Aldermen present: Mike Bruno, Tara Burghart, Don Cummings, Dean Kilburg, Richard Marks, Jim Radecki, Mary Seno, Tom Simonian, Ron Singer. Aldermen absent: Craig Maladra. Also attending: City Atty. Marks, seconded by Ald. Bruno to approve Ord. 2016-17 amending Title 5 (Health & Sanitation), Ch. 2 (Garbage, Refuse, and Junk), Section 3 (Collection Charges), Subsection I (City Environmental Collection Charges) of the Geneva City Code. Ald. Simonian requested that the Executive Summary be corrected to reflect a percentage increase in refuse fees of 6.17 percent, rather than the stated 5.8 percent. Roll call: AYES: 9 (Ald. Simonian thanked Admin. McKittrick, Asst. Admin. Dawkins and Finance Mgr. Kruse for spending time with him and Ald. Seno regarding the City’s budgeting process. He said he now has a better understanding of how government accounting differs from business accounting.
