Board of Fire and Police Commission City of Geneva 22 South First Street Geneva, IL 60134 Minutes of the April 15, 2015 Meeting Conference Room – Geneva Fire Department Commissioners in Attendance: Arnold Northrup, Brad Koontz and Jennifer McMahon. Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Commissioner Northrup. A) APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion: A motion was made by Commissioner McMahon that the minutes from the March 31, 2015 meeting be approved as presented. Seconded by Commissioner Northrup. All Aye, motion passed. B) PUBLIC COMMENTARY - None C) CORRESPONDENCES – None D) UNFINISHED BUSINESS- 1. Discussion of changes to Rules and Regulation. The Commission reviewed the changes that Stephanie Dawkins made. 2. Approval of changes to Rules and Regulation. Commissioner Northrup made the following motion. It is hereby moved that the Board of Fire and police Commissioners of the City of Geneva, Illinois, repeal its existing Rules and Regulations, adopt, in replacement thereof, its new Rules and Regulations (a copy of which is attached hereto) as of the date shown below. To become effective no less than ten (10) days following publication of the notice. Commissioner McMahon seconded. All Aye, motion passed. 3. Update on current Police Department eligibility list. Linda St. John contacted the 4 individuals remaining on the list and they all four confirmed their desire to stay on the list. 4. Fire Lieutenant Promotion Testing Timeline Update. We are on schedule for our August 26, 2015 testing. E) NEW BUSINESS 1. Call for Firefighter Examination. Applications for the position of Firefighter can be obtained on August 8, 2015 from the Geneva Fire Department located at 200 East Side Drive or downloaded from the Geneva Fire Department website beginning August 8, 2015 through August 20, 2015. Completed applications must be returned to the above address by 5:00 p.m. on August 20, 2015. A written examination will be given on September 19, 2015. Commissioner Northrup motioned to set $25.00 as the application fee payable by applicants for Firefighter position to be paid when they pick up their application package or when they submit their completed applications downloaded from the website. Commissioner Koontz seconded. All Aye, motion passed. 2. Firefighter/Paramedic Recruitment Testing Timeline. We are on schedule for our September 19, 2015 testing.  3. Records Disposal. Stephanie Dawkins will send documents to the State Auditor who will review the list and send a permission to dispose of documents. 4. Next Meeting. We will next meet at the Eastside Fire Station Conference room on June 3, 2015 at 7pm F) ADJOURNMENT Motion: A motion was made by Commissioner McMahon that the meeting be adjourned.
