International Cultural Exchange Committee A Subcommittee of Geneva’s Strategic Advisory Committee SPAC Geneva City Hall Conference Room (2nd floor), 22 South First Street, Geneva, IL 60134 Minutes: Wednesday, December 11, 2013  Call to Order - The meeting was called to order at 5:18pm Members present were Albright, Alderfer, Bald, Cabeen, and Landberg. Absent were Kaczmarski, Ploppert and Chalberg Pool.  Approval of Minutes – November minutes were approved. Bald moved, Alderfer seconded. Reports:  Treasurer’s report was unchanged from November meeting.  Croissy Visit October 11-15, 2013: Photos to post and Jony’s pictures were added to a folder and then posted on the website. Many thanks to David Bald and Sandy Kaczmarski for submitting the story about the Croissy trip to the website and news update for all members.  Ideas to broaden our exchange with Croissy – Cynthia provided a hand out to generate ideas about what is doable so it can be discussed at the January, 2014 meeting.  Website update – Matt Lay fixed website errors. The new website theme is working. The old theme was not compatible with mobile devices, minutes and updating pictures. A student would like to blog about the Croissy trip on our website. Having a mentor for this student to work with would be helpful.  Get-Together – Bobbi Villa Verone and Penrose Brewery were mentioned as possible venues. Bobbi will have more information at the January, 2014 meeting.  GHS Exchanges – Pam Cabeen will be speaking with Marissa Parker of ECI about placing Croissy students with Geneva families. Mr. Santo, an English  teacher at GHS has been having Skyping sessions with Le Mans, France. Pam Cabeen will be working with Augustine on the French Connection in Geneva and the high school students are looking forward to French Week Competition.  Swedish Liaison – Lynn will begin anew after the first of the year.  ICEC Banner and Logo - Lynn and Sandy will work on a new logo design; banner and design for new handouts for ICEC to be possibly ready for the get- together this winter and Swedish Days.  NEXT MEETING DATE- Wednesday, January 8, 2014, 5:15pm, City Hall.
