CROISSY VISIT Oct 11-15 – Cynthia
Angela and Pam have dropped pictures into Drop Box. Sandy suggested
Picasa as a photo site that could work to share photos with our members –
perhaps something Google.

Youth initiatives and ideas were discussed. David suggested some ideas to
link Croissy, France to Geneva by working with the Geneva Public Library.
Lectures and study groups as well as Book Discussion groups. Brown Bags
and Books and a possible program at the Geneva History Museum were
discussed. Looking forward to a picnic or cook-out with exchange students this
summer.
WEBSITE UPDATE-
Student records – Middle school student blog
City now has an employee to update agendas and committees – sub
committees will have a spot there and pages on the city websites. Kevin Stahr
is the new contact. Stephanie Dawkins will let us know when they are ready to
work with us.
GET-TOGETHER– Bobbi
We are waiting to hear from Penrose Brewing and Gracious Hall. The Cultural
Arts Dinner will be drawing many of the same people during the same
Feb/March time frame.
A photo exhibit as part of the get together was discussed, requesting best
photos from our members who have visited Croissy. Brian DeWolf suggested
banner or montage that could be part of sharing with the library, at the get
together, GHC, etc. would be nice to have soon.
GHS – Pam will message with Marissa Parker of ECI and stress that it is
imperative to make contact with Geneva families to plug in Croissy students.
Host families with students are preferred. Can the dates be set ahead of time
so we can get the publicity out for families to sign-up. It would be nice if we
could include families from Geneva who have students attending other schools.
SWEDISH LIAISON – Lynn- Swedish Days will begin working with contacts in
Sweden early this year. The German teacher at GHS was wondering if we
would be amenable to working toward a cultural exchange partner with
German families.
ICEC BANNER and LOGO- Lynn and Sandy- new logo design; banner; design
for new handouts for ICEC. By next meeting, February 12th, Sandy and Lynn
need to get together and have ideas for logo, etc. ready to look at. Info should
not be dated and the need to think of publicity such as the Geneva Chamber
and GPLD (library) use. (bookmark, etc.)
BY-LAWS- Cynthia / handout
- City of Geneva required 2014 dates; advised ICEC permanent meeting date
2nd Wednesday. Change in by-laws is not required, but we will consider a
change this spring.
Cynthia and David will look over by-laws and suggest changes to come into
compliance – modify/simplify, etc. We do not need to change the by-laws to
accommodate our change in meeting dates for 2014.
NEXT MEETING DATE- FEBRUARY 12, WEDNESDAY AT 5:15pm
ADJOURNMENT at 6:12pm.
Respectively submitted,
Lynn S. Landberg
