International Cultural Exchange Committee A Subcommittee of Geneva’s Strategic Advisory Committee SPAC Geneva City Hall Conference Room (2nd floor), 22 South First Street, Geneva, IL 60134 Minutes: Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 5:15pm  CALL TO ORDER – The meeting was called to order at 5:15 pm Members present: Albright, Alderfer Bald, Kraus, Landberg, Not present: Chalberg Pool, Cabeen, Bob Backus. Guest: Denise Snyder  APPROVAL OF MINUTES – October minutes were approved as read.  TREASURER’S REPORT – Angela reported no change in status.  WEBSITE – Cynthia reported that we are in transition to the City of Geneva Website. We will maintain our ICECGeneva.org link through Go Daddy. We will be able to place minutes, agendas, photos, and links to videos at the City of Geneva website, www.geneva.il.us.  ECI/GHS/MIDDLE SCHOOL EXCHANGES – Cynthia and Pam Skyped with Pierrick and Jony in France to encourage and enhance future visits by French students to Geneva in 2015.  CROISSY DELEGATION VISIT – After the September 2015 dates were discussed, it was agreed upon to extend a formal invitation for a delegation from Croissy to arrive Friday, September 11th for a four night stay. This will coincide with the Festival of the Vine.  NEW PROJECTS FOR 2015 – o David will continue to work with the Geneva Public Library to develop a book discussion. o Kari and Pam have sent logos for approval for ICEC from GHS. o Cynthia announced that the GGAG event, Painting en plein air will take place May 29 – 31, 2015. Nancy McGuire wants to model the festival on the ones in Croissy. o Cynthia would like to add a link on our website for a visit to Croissy when Genevans are in Paris with directions. o Cynthia would like to begin a blog on the website that would include a day in the life of a person living in Geneva/Croissy or aspects of life in Geneva/Croissy. SWEDISH LIAISON - Lynn met with Steve Andersson and Kent Shodeen about the Swedish Ambassadors program for Kane County. Steve is still working with connections in Sweden for a Cultural Exchange Partner. NEXT MEETING DATE – January 14, 2015  ADJOURNMENT – Time: 6:30pm
